Mr. Md. Mashiur Rahman, Director General, BARD - Bangladesh Academy for Rural Development, Comilla, Bangladesh & Additional Secretary to the Govt. of Bangladesh visited Amul on August 22nd 2013 along with Dr. Kamrul Ahsan, Director, Training Division, BARD, Bangladesh for an exposure visit. They were briefed the Anand Pattern and its impact on the dairy industry in India. They were quite impressed by the way Amul has changed the lives of millions of farmers across India using world class technology. They also expressed their desire to establish something like Amul in Bangladesh which could benefit the small and marginal farmers in their country. They also visited NDDB.

Impressions:

This is an excellent example of farmers driven successful milk industry of the world. It is also a great example of empowering small farmers, provide them real price of their milk, and improving upon the livelihood of huge small farmers of the state. Farmers organization can be globally appreciated is an example - 'Amul'.
