Amul Dairy had the privilege of hosting a three-day technical study tour for the Veterinary Team of Banas Dairy, under the leadership of Shri Sangram Chaudhary, Managing Director, Banas Dairy, warmly welcomed by Dr. Amit Vyas, Managing Director, Amul Dairy.The visit emphasized the importance of knowledge sharing and collaborative innovation in strengthening India's cooperative dairy sector. The programme provided an excellent platform for technical interactions, enabling both organizations to exchange best practices in animal breeding, livestock management, dairy technology, and sustainable dairy development. During the visit, the delegation toured Amul Dairy's premier livestock development facilities, including the Kanjari Plant, Bovine Breeding Centre (BBC), Mogar, Calf Rearing Project (CRP), Sarsa, Fodder FPO, Anand, Semen Station, Ode, and Bull Quarantine Station, Undel. At the Kanjari Plant, the team visited the Homeopathy Medicine Production Facility, Soil Analysis Laboratory, Biofertilizer Production Unit, and Cattle Feed Supplement Manufacturing Facility, gaining insights into Amul's integrated approach towards animal healthcare, soil health, and sustainable agriculture. The delegation also explored the Bovine Breeding Centre, Mogar, where they visited the IVF Laboratory, Calf Nursery, High Genetic Merit Donor Cow Sheds, and ongoing expansion projects. Detailed discussions on In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) and Field Embryo Transfer (ET) programmes showcased Amul's scientific approach to accelerating genetic improvement. At the Semen Station, Ode, the team toured Asia's largest Sexed Semen Production Facility, the modern Bull Farm, and the biogas plant. Live demonstrations of the Automatic Weather Station and Digital Soil Analysis Probe highlighted the application of precision technologies in fodder development and climate-smart livestock management. Discussions also focused on breeding strategies for indigenous breeds, including Gir, Kankrej, Sahiwal, Tharparkar, and Jafrabadi. The delegation further visited the Calf Rearing Project, Sarsa, where they observed scientific calf-rearing practices, recipient animal management for embryo transfer programmes, and digital cow monitoring technologies. At the Bull Quarantine Station, Undel, the team reviewed biosecurity protocols and the upcoming facility that will accommodate 650 heifers, further strengthening Amul's livestock development ecosystem.
