A distinguished delegation from Cooperativa Ganadera del Valle de Los Pedroches (COVAP), Spain, led by Mr. Ricardo Jesus Maria Delgado Vizcaino (President), along with Mr. Antonio Andres Carmona Mora (CEO), Mr. Manuel Blanco Duenas (Dairy Industry Manager), and Mr. Juan Antonio Ballesteros Garcia (Head – Overseas Markets), visited Amul Dairy, Anand, yesterday.
The delegation was warmly welcomed by Dr. Amit Vyas, MD, Amul Dairy; Shri Manoranjan Pani, CGM, Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (Amul); Shri Manoj Mundhada, Head – IT & Operations, Amul Dairy; Shri Sameer Saxena, AGM, GCMMF; and Shri Rajul Jain, Senior Manager, Amul Dairy. During the visit, the guests explored the rich legacy of Amul and gained insights into end-to-end plant operations - from milk reception to the manufacture of products such as butter and milk powder. They were particularly impressed by the lush green campus and the efficient, sustainable operations.
While understanding Amul’s robust three-tier cooperative governance structure, the delegation noted the strong takeaways from Amul’s cooperative model. The team also had the opportunity to meet Shri Sabhesinh Mangabhai Parmar, Chairman, Amul Dairy.
The delegation also visited Munjkuva Dairy Cooperative Society (DCS), where they gained first-hand insights into milk procurement at the grassroots level. They reviewed and appreciated the biogas unit installed at the village level, highlighting Amul’s commitment to sustainability and circular rural development.
The delegation also visited Amul Dairy’s Chocolate Plant at the Tribhuvandas Food Complex, Mogar, where they highly appreciated the world-class chocolate production facilities and advanced manufacturing capabilities, and expressed their delight at the delectable taste of Amul chocolates.
Sharing their appreciation, the COVAP delegation remarked on the exceptional warmth and hospitality, calling it an exemplary level of hospitality and warmth, and expressed admiration for Amul’s transparency, rich livestock and marketing legacy, and unwavering commitment to defending and empowering milk producers. From one cooperative to another, COVAP extended heartfelt congratulations and gratitude for the inspiring exchange.
The delegation also met Dr. Jayen Mehta, MD, Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (Amul), along with MD Amul Dairy and the team, during a dinner interaction and engaged in meaningful discussions with the Amul team on future opportunities and collaborative possibilities.
