Amul Dairy made a strong and meaningful contribution at the International Dairy Processing Conference (IDPC) 2026, held at the Yashobhoomi Convention Centre, Dwarka, New Delhi, on 8th January 2026. Dr. Amit Vyas, Managing Director, Amul Dairy, participated as a distinguished panelist in Plenary Session–1 on the theme “Vision 2047 – India’s Dairy Development Roadmap towards Self-Reliance & Sustainability.”
The plenary session featured an eminent panel of industry leaders and policymakers, including Mr. Rahul Kumar Srivastava, Chairman, National Committee on Dairy & COO, Parag Milk Foods ; Ms. Namita Kumar, Co-Chairperson, TPCI National Committee on Dairy & Director, Param Dairy; Mr. Ayush Agrawal, Owner, Calpro Specialities Pvt. Ltd.; Mr. Chakradhar Gade, Member, TPCI National Committee on Dairy & Co-Founder & CEO, Country Delight; and Prof. (Dr.) Jashbhai Prajapati, Chairman (West Zone), moderated by Shri Kuldeep Sharma, Chief Thinking Officer, Suruchi Consultants. The discussion focused on defining strategic pathways for building a future-ready, inclusive, and globally competitive dairy sector for India.
During the session, Dr. Amit Vyas shared Amul Dairy’s perspective on achieving self-reliance through farmer-centric growth anchored in the cooperative model. He emphasized that empowering milk producers through assured market access, fair pricing, and strong institutional support remains fundamental to sustainable dairy development. He highlighted how technology-led interventions, including digital platforms, data-driven decision-making, genetic improvement programs, and scientific animal health services, are critical for enhancing productivity and efficiency at the grassroots level.
Addressing sustainability, Dr. Vyas underlined the importance of resource-efficient processing, renewable energy adoption, water stewardship, and reduction of carbon footprint across dairy operations. He stressed that sustainability must be integrated across the entire value chain—from farm to consumer—without compromising farmer incomes or product quality.
Dr. Vyas also spoke about the need for continuous innovation, value addition, and skill development to meet evolving consumer preferences while strengthening India’s leadership as the world’s largest milk producer. He emphasized that close collaboration between cooperatives, private players, technology providers, and government institutions will be key to realizing the Vision 2047 roadmap.
In recognition of its outstanding contribution to the dairy sector, Amul Dairy was conferred with the prestigious Titan Award at IDPC 2026, received by Dr. Amit Vyas on behalf of the organization.
